JSC “EURO RAIL TRANS” was founded in early 2012 and is the subsidiary of JSC “Russian Railways Logistics” which is the leader of Russian logistics operators. The JSC “EURO RAIL TRANS” is the managing company of “Locomotive Traction Operator” holding, the aim of which is to develop the logistics business in the European direction of the railway area. One of the priorities for the JSC “EURO RAIL TRANS” is business development in the Europe and Asia. Work of the company is directed just on realization of strategy of an output on the European market of multimodal transportations of cargoes. We can offer one-stop service to shippers to delivery of cargoes by transit on territory of the Europe, Russia, Central Asia and other CIS countries with many transport solutions in the marine and land communication.

From all cargoes transported by railroad in Latvia, about 95–98% make the international transportations, basically in a direction of Russia and Belarus in the Latvian ports of Riga, Ventspils and Liepaja, neatly focused on service of export and transit cargoes.

JSC “EURO RAIL TRANS” delivers cargoes not only from Latvia-Russia border crossings to the Latvian port terminals, but also directly provides a full range of freight forwarding services for the organization and transportation of cargo from any point of the Europe up to the removed regions of Russia, Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan) and back.

Today, cargo transportations by rail are very economic tipe of transportation and provide ample opportunities for transportation of cargoes on long distances.

Advantage of rail transportation before other types of transport is greater carrying capacity of means of a railway transportation. Most often rail transportation are applied in mining, wood, shipbuilding industries, as well as in agriculture, construction and heavy mechanical engineering. Transportation can be carried out in containers, universal cars, open wagons, transporters and on open platforms.
